These cartridges work wonderfully, as it has been said before; these cartridges belong to the golden age of the HP printers. Thus, it is highly recommended, above all, to keep the printer with you.

These printers are the best printers not just because of the printer itself, but because of the cartridges that it uses. The cartridges mentioned in the title above give the best rate and performance.

The 45 HP, the 23 HP tri color and the 15 HP black ink color can be refilled; however after that, it is possible that the levels of ink shown by the printer are not the exactly the ones the cartridges really have.

To solve this, the levels of ink must be reset by pasting masking tape to some of the connectors of the cartridges. See the following procedure:
Take into account that this process is not mandatory in the ink cartridges and in some cases is less needed since some printer do not have a software installed to detect the levels of ink.

  • Open the lid giving access to the ink cartridges, this is the top cover of the printer, the cartridges will change position and will be placed in the surface to change the ink cartridges. See cartridge connectors on image below...
  • Depending on the need or on the cartridge ink level wanted to be reset, that specific cartridge is taken out of the printer.
  • Paste masking tape at the top left of the ink cartridge; the tape must cover the contacts but not the other connectors of the cartridge. When finishing, try to remove all the masking tape remaining in the cartridge.

  • Place the ink cartridge in the printer again and wait for about 10 seconds after.
  • After those 10 seconds, open the lid giving access to the ink cartridges again. There are chances the printer showing an error at the moment of placing the ink cartridge, but do not worry, it is a normal fact.
  • Take out the cartridge from the printer.
  • Remove the masking tape from the cartridge or cartridges.
  • Paste the masking tape one more time in the cartridge or cartridges, but this time on the connectors of the other side.
  • Place the ink cartridge in the printer again and wait for about 10 seconds as it was done before. There are also chances the printer showing an error at the moment of placing the ink cartridge, still does not worry, it is a normal fact.
  • Open the lid giving access to the ink cartridges again and remove the masking tape from the cartridges. Try now cleaning any ink residue that is left, for this cleaning a bit of alcohol can be used.
  • Place the ink cartridge in the printer again and now the printer will perform a process and after that the levels of ink have to be restored.
